High Risk Car Insurance

Are You a High Risk Driver?  Have you been disqualified from driving?  Do you no longer have a clean driving licence?  Have you had a number of claims and lost your no claims bonus?  If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then you are probably classified as a High Risk Driver.

As a High Risk Driver you may find that many Insurance Companies are unwilling to provide you with insurance cover - this is their right, they see you as likely to cost them money rather than earn them a profit.  Those companies that are prepared to provide you with Insurance Cover charge highly for it - they need to cover their risks.  Car Insurance is a legal requirement for all drivers - you have two choices: stop driving, or find a company prepared to cover you and pay the high premiums they demand.

Can you reduce your drivers insurance costs?  Once you have cover, over time, provide you have no further misdemeanours or accidents, your premiums will reduce.  In the meantime, there may be some options available to help reduce the costs.  Shop around to find the company offering the best motor insurance package to meet your needs.  Comparing online quotes can be a quick and easy way to find the cheapest car insurance for your personal circumstances.  Talk with insurance companies to find out if there are any options available to you that could reduce your premiums.

For a given insurance company, you may be able to reduce your premium by changing your type of  insurance cover.  As a minimum, Third Party Insurance is required to provide cover for any injuries or damage caused to other people or their property. Third Party, Fire and Theft, includes cover for loss of your own vehicle due to fire or theft.  Fully Comprehensive Insurance cover will also provide cover for yourself and your own vehicle if an accident is your own fault.  Although "Fully Comp" cover will be more expensive, the difference may not be as much as you may expect - especially to cover a cheaper car.

Optimise Your Cover  You may find that adjusting your policy slightly may significantly reduce your premiums - removing or adding a named driver, increasing the excess, adjusting the value of the car, the yearly mileage or the type of use, where the car is kept overnight, etc. are all issues that can significantly affect the premiums - by varying your policy you may be able to reduce your premium to less than half!

Make sure you are honest - making false claims may invalidate your cover.
