Ear Pinning - Pinnaplasty or Otoplasty

Do you feel uncomfortable about your ears sticking out?  Do you suffer from what is referred to as "bat ears"?  Ear pinning could be a solution.

An operation called pinnaplasty or otoplasty (commonly referred to as "Ear Pinning") reshapes the gristly tissue (cartilage) in the ear and uses plastic stitches to pin the ears back in a more pleasing position.

Ear Pinning surgery is a commonly performed and generally safe surgical procedure if performed by a suitably qualified surgeon.  You should discuss with your surgeon what you are hoping to gain from the operation and be sure know what you can reasonably expect and that you understand the risks.  Ear Pinning Surgery usually produces a high level of satisfaction with the results.

Although the operation only takes between one and two hours, and is usually performed as a day case at a suitable clinic or hospital.  It may be performed under a local or a general anesthetic.  If performed under a general anesthetic you will not be allowed to eat for 6 hours before hand and may prefer to stay overnight.

You should look for a specialist cosmetic surgeon and check their credentials.
